House of Annetta: Soundings

This performance installation explored the spirit and histories of the House of Annetta through site-specific musical and sonic works.

Located in Spitalfields—a site long marked by the tensions of capital, community, and creativity—the house carries the legacy of artist and activist Annetta Pedretti, who inhabited it from 1980 as a space for experimental learning and collective resistance. Today, under the stewardship of Assemble, the House of Annetta continues her vision as a centre for research, arts, and solidarity. Adding to these threads, Guildhall students created a series of ‘soundings’ that resonated with the building’s layered past and imagined futures.
